With a 2,2,2,1,3 score line and 10 points, the Oyster IRC 42, Oystercatcher XXVI, sailed by Richard Matthews, was confirmed as class winner at the Heineken Regatta, 7-9 March 2008.
Strong winds prevailed throughout and at times the 10-man crew enjoyed sleigh ride sailing downwind at up to 20 knots.
In second place, with 14 points, was the Marten 49 Yani owned by the inventor of Skype and sailed by Tim Powell, a veteran of two Volvo Ocean Races.
The Heineken was the first of four Caribbean regattas in which Oystercatcher will sail this season. Since launching in August last year Oystercatcher remains in each of four regattas sailed.
